PS3 with Acer 22″ TFT Monitor X222W 1080p HD

I got Black Hawk Down blu-ray.. i can confirm that this works with blu-ray movies. but sadly not dvds.. ok continue reading… Before you start posting for help, please go to www.youtube.com for more details. For requirements, go to www.mmgeeks.org Then you can post in here for help. There are many people out there who are having problem connecting PS3 and Acer or other monitors. This video will prove that it works perfectly. My PS3 is using the latest firmware 2.10 now. 1080p supported and very sharp and clear. Much better than my friend's 32" Philips LCD TV Required: -Monitor with DVI input (HDCP Support) -HDMI/DVI cable or HDMI Cable with HDMI to DVI Converter (Cheap) -RCA Phono Female to Male Jack audio or similar (Cheap) What I have: -Monitor: Acer X222W 22" TFT Monitor -HDMI Cable from Game £12 -HDMI to DVI Converter from Currys £2.48 -RCA Phono Female to Male Jack from Ebay £0.99 That's it. It should work fine. I have to admit I got some trouble while setting up this monitor. The down side of using some of the tft monitors (including this) will be: -Cannot play PS1 or PS2 games -Cannot play DVD movies I think that is because the monitor doesn't support lower resolution.

Hi! Could you tell me about the black colour on that lcd? Is it good or it has some back-light bleed? I’m planning on buying it but I’m not sure.
    Thanks!

  4. DiEg0123 says

Nop.. Without DVI port, it will not work. dvi must be at the back of the monitor or it will not work. sorry.

  5. zahidmasih7 says

erm i just spec it and it does support HDCP thats one of its features but it dosent have the dvi port at the back of it so it just might work with the dvi port thats in my hardrive ?

  6. DiEg0123 says

Not sure why you are talking about harddive.

Check your monitor spec. Does it support HDCP and is your monitor bigger than 22 inch? if so, you might have a shot.

Try setting the resolution to 720P or 1080i on the PS3?

  12. EpiphoneGuitarist says

No, you only need a Monitor that has a HDMI output bulit in and then plug in the monitor

  13. virgozero says

@JamesWorldStudios hes saying 1080i is sharper than 720p but 720p looks better in the end because its progressive. Ofcourse 1080p looks teh best, but given between 720p and 1080i, im sure gamers rather choose 720p and actaully every1

do i need a tower/desktop/the thing connectedto monitor on a computer…..do i need one of those for me to use a a monitor ONLY for ps3 gameplay? im short on cash and i don’t want to pay more than i have to.

dude i love you so much for some reason someone set my system on a shitty ass 480p and i didnt know how to fix it till now thank you so much

  16. ChristyTV says

1080p monitors are actually very affordable!

  17. MrNightwings74 says

GAmes already come in 1080p it depends if your video card supports it. Meaning PC gamers enjoy 1080p and 2560x 1600 but those monitors are way too expensive for now.

igot my acer g24 best gaming monitor :D

  19. JamesWorldStudios says

Actually 1080p is better and sharper. As you can see on this video it goes from the top to bottom to the highest definition, 1080p is progressive 1080i is just Interlaced.

I have this problem where the firmware 2.8 I can play DVD in 1080p on my LCD but after upgraded to firmware v3.00 my DVD can no longer played. It just black out the whole LCD and nothing work, I have to do a reset to get back my screen again. Anyone have this problem? But the dvd works with 1080i but not 1080p anymore.

  21. paulbabbitt says

You can’t play full 1080p without either a vga/dvi cable or a HDMI cable. All 3 of these are capable of achieving 1080p.

  22. bonerjam10 says

Anyone know why dvd don’t work with the monitor? I seriously have no clue.

  23. DiEg0123 says

well 1080i would be sharper of course but again, most of the games are still 720p. So it will change back to 720p on the games that does not support 1080p. All up to you :)

  24. lbj23clutch says

Okay my TV supports up to 720p and 1080i, but I don’t know which one is better… Which do you prefer???
