oh geez look at all these xbox360 kids roaming into the unknown world of the basic computer monitor
it works with other consoles too, doesnt it?
because i wanted to connect my consoles (chinch) with a vgachinch adapter to my old computer screen(compaq tft 8000) but it dont work-

Yes you can. Instead of plugging in the speakers to the connector do it with the headset.
what if my speakers are integrated into my monitor.
What if I have a monitor with onboard speakers which I use? Also what if I don’t have an extra VGA cable and only have an open DVI port?

Is it possible to use headphones instead of speakers? I have logitech g35’s and I really wouldn’t want these to go to waste while im playing xbox on my monitor

I did all this & my monitor just shows a message saying optimal configuration is 1024x something at 60hz any idea what this means ??

can you use an hdmi to s-video converter to hook a game console to a pc cause i have an hp touchsmart and the available out is s-video
I got dvi so i use a hdmi to dvi converter and plug it in that way. but this will work fine incase you dont have dvi

Any monitor will work hell you can get a old CRT and run it up to 720p considering many of them are capable of 1600×1200 at the most.

some can do up to 1080p but n00bz think only a 1,000 dollar plasma can lol…..sony used to make 32inch to 34inch CRTs in HD that could do from lousy 480i up to bad ass 1080i/p. lol

Sure it is, Just get a HDMI to DVI. I think you will still need the XBOX cable for the sound.
Or just get a gender changer
